Chatham Odeon Cinema Site

The Chatham Odeon Cinema had long been the main cinema along Chatham High Street. With the recent demand in housing and the dilapidated condition of the Odeon Cinema it was decided that the existing building would be demolished and Imperial Gate built in its place. Imperial Gate is a mixed-use development of 55 Key Worker flats and a Direct Access Hostel. FSP acted as the Architects for Jenner Contractors and developed the scheme from a Stage B set of Employers Requirements. FSP were integral to the re-planning of all the Key worker flats and Direct hostels. This involved extensive communication with the employer, the employer's agent and Medway planners. Included in the redesign were the rationalisation of the façade, roof and materials used.

During the construction of the project FSP provided on-going consultation for the client Jenners on site issues. The practice co-ordinated the specialist design of curtain walling systems and specialist roof and eaves constructions.
