Leopold Buildings

Complete refurbishment of a Grade II listed Victorian tenement block for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and Ujima Housing Association. The Scheme, produced in association with English Heritage, restored the main Columbia Road elevation to its former glory and swept away the asbestos clad access ways and refuse chutes predominant on the rear. All flats are fully insulated, sound proofed and centrally heated. Access is via new service towers to the rear. These towers house lifts, stairs, refuse chutes and public utility services. A concierge and CCTV facilities cover both Leopold Buildings and the adjacent 1960’s estate.
