Ashford & St Peter’s NHS Trust

As part of a £1.2 Million expansion to turn their existing Neonatal Intensive Care Unit into one of the largest intensive care units for sick babies in Surrey and Sussex, Ashford and St Peter's NHS Trust appointed Floyd Slaski Partnership to undertake a major refurbishment of the existing facilities.
By expanding from four intensive care cots and three high dependency cots to eight intensive care and four high dependency the Unit is now ranked at level three, so allowing it to provide care for 95% of West Surrey's babies as well as some work from further afield.
Floyd Slaski Partnership held regular design meetings with Unit Staff and worked out ways of phasing the contract works to allow the Unit to continue operating in safety. Work on site went according to programme with the minimum of disruption to parents, nursing staff and babies.
The Unit was officially opened by Sophie, Countess of Wessex
