East London Mixed Use Scheme
East London mixed use scheme: An interesting exercise in massaging use allocation for maximum commercial gain within planning policy, light envelopes and respecting the scale of heritage assets off one corner of the site. A raised landscaped podium above 1500sqm of ground floor retail facilitated a lower-rise legibility and the 142 residential units to the quieter rear of the site were balanced by a 60 bed hotel to the front. A further 1500sqm of space was allocated to flexible workspace / Gym / Food & Beverage and community use. We set ourselves the highest goals for landscape, urban greening and sustainability credentials.
