Navnat Community Centre Facade

After a substantial transformation at the rear, where Floyd Slaski have added a New Dining Hall extension, the Navnat Community decided it is time for the main facade to be re-vamped.

In order to create an outdoor space with a more pedestrian character, we started by replacing the large asphalt area in front with high quality paving.

Because changing the existing facade membrane would impact extensively on several internal spaces., our proposal is instead looking at providing a ‘second skin’ in front of the existing façade, that creates a more appealing face without fundamentally affecting the structure of the existing building.

The way we are proposing to do this is by using decorative laser cut screens to conceal the existing façade and glazed pergolas to create a discreet pedestrian circulation parallel to the main façade

The chosen material for the screens is a mirror like metal that would reflect the lush greenery of the mature trees at the front but also the liveliness and decorative abundance of the Navnat community events.
