First Voluntary Surgical Hospital

The goal of the proposed Rehabilitation Facility for the First Voluntary Surgical Hospital in Ukraine is to increase access to critical care for both soldiers and civilians recuperating from wounds sustained during combat. A 40-bed inpatient ward, specialized mental health areas, a gym that serves as a shelter, and specially designed rehabilitation spaces—including future hydrotherapy facilities—are all part of the project.

A clear circulation route connects all key areas, ensuring easy navigation and supporting an efficient clinical flow. The building’s form responds sensitively to its surroundings while creating a calm, uplifting atmosphere for patients, families, and staff. As an extension of the existing hospital, the new facility increases capacity, expands access to free care, and support long-term resilience, well-being, and community ties.
